Whee!

I did a pullup, I did a pullup! I did a chinup too, actually. Yes.. one of each. Whatever though, I’m all proud of myself ^_^
Also, my awesome and sexy husband bought me a heart rate monitor (and yes, I do always post with some kind of praise for him when he lets me spend lots of money). It is a Polar F6, and I also ordered a spiffy sports bra and transmitter from NuMetrex so that I don’t have to wear a chest strap. I wonder how long it will take before he decides that he wants one, too. I suppose he probably won’t, since he never likes to spend money on himself.

Maybe my parents rubbed off more than I thought (or it could be being poor/in debt for a while, though I don’t think my parents were ever in that situation), but I wouldn’t buy one either. I refuse to buy things that I’d probably use even when I do have the money until I’m certain they’d make enough difference for it to be worthwhile.
I guess I have a hard time picturing a $100 (or whatever they cost) heart-rate monitor (while spiffy) having benefits which significantly outweigh holding my fingers to my neck and counting for 3 seconds, then multiplying.
Then again, maybe Dan’s just cheaper than I am.

I’m a sucker for anything that I think will give me motivation / help me lose weight. I admit it freely. I fall for everything out there, gimmick or not.
As to the heart rate monitor, though.. I want it for when I am actually working out. It’ll beep at me if I’m dogging it and falling below where my heart rate should be. Hopefully it’ll help me not slack (wouldn’t want Dan to hear it and -know- I’m a slackass).
Dan is ridiculously cheap, though. Just not when it comes to me ^_^

I have a hard time dogging it through most of them (last half of yoga and the kicking crap in kenpo aside). Seems like a nifty investment, if I could find one that didn’t cost so much.
You might be surprised about Dan dogging it, anyway.
