Had a nice run today.. ran to the end of the street and back (as opposed to just to the end of the street last time) which works out to be about a mile and a quarter. Think tomorrow we’ll do a weight training day (one of the P90X videos, I’m sure) and then run again on Thursday. Actually, now that I think about it.. I’m not sure we’ll do anything tomorrow. It is Open House up at school (since school starts on Thursday) so it is possible that we won’t really have time for a workout by the time Dan gets home from work, we go to Open House, eat, etc.. Guess we’ll see.
I need to plan out a longer run. Something that is 2 miles or so from the house would be nice.. I think that if we walk to the end of the road (toward Tatum instead of Scottsdale) and then run to Dynamite and back, it will be about two miles. Guess I’ll check in the car later.
Waiting for Dan to get back from the grocery store right now.. I want to experiment with making a diabetic friendly cake for my grandma (her birthday is coming up). Katie picked up some whole wheat pastry flour for me on the way home from work, and then I’ll use Splenda instead of sugar. It still won’t be -healthy- of course (too much fat) but at least it will be whole wheat and sugar free. I think she isn’t really watching her fat / caloric intake right now.. just sugar and starch and such. Basically, I’m just adapting an excellent red velvet cake recipe that I have and hoping it turns out well!
Workout today: Mile and a quarter jog.

Happy birthday to me!
Happy birthday dear Me!
Happy birthday to me!
Had lunch with Dan today (yes, three slices of Pino’s pizza is awesome for losing weight..
but it is my birthday, right?) and then did some shopping with Katie. Bought a dress that doesn’t fit, but had better fit soon. Bought a jump rope. Read a couple more pages of the book that Dan picked up for me last night.
It is kind of funny about jumping rope. I swear I can remember jumping rope forever and ever as a kid, but I doubt I could jump for more than a minute, now. Anyway, seemed like it would be at least semi-fun and you can get a great workout in not a lot of time. I was planning to run in the mornings after I drop the kids off at the bus, but if Dan is going to run with me when he gets home from work, then I don’t really want to run in the mornings as well. So, yes.. jumping rope! We’ll see how that goes.
I’ll probably post my measurements after Dan gets home and has a chance to do them for me. They’re going to be pretty pathetic compared to the last ones that I posted. I really have gained a lot of weight.. I’m up to 146ish right now. Very depressing. Ah well, guess it’ll come back off.

I’m sooooore. We ran again today (around a dirt road back behind the horse riding school across the street, which was nice.. no glue smell like on the normal route). Well, Dan ran and I slogged / walked. Anyway, my.. hips?.. are sore, and my butt too. I’m so out of shape.
Experimented with some Udon Noodle Soup, but it didn’t come out as well as I’d hoped. I buy these “Annie Chun’s Noodle Soup Bowls” and they are ridiculously tasty, but they cost like $5 each, which is ridiculous. Hopefully with some more experimentation, I’ll end up with something tasty and not as expensive. The one I just made was definitely too salty, and the noodles were slimy. I was expecting them to be the fat, round udon noodles, but instead they were kind of flattish, and not at all what I had been wanting. Also, the bok choy stems needed to be cooked longer and it needed more red chile pepper for sure.
